The Evangelizing and Baptism of Children

For many believers, fulfilling Christ’s command to make disciples of all nations begins at home—with their children. In fact, few experiences bring greater joy to Christian parents than seeing their children come to faith in Christ.

The process of evangelizing one’s children, however, can be a daunting task. For many parents, the questions are as practical as they are disconcerting: How should I present the gospel to my children? What’s the best approach to take? How do I know if I’m doing it right?

Ages 4 and 5

Our older students in Early Childhood follow God's unfolding story from creation to Heaven primarily in a chronological approach. A year is spent in the old testament and a year is spent in the New testament. As much as reasonable and practical, stories are studied in their historical sequence.

In the process, they’ll also learn that God’s story continues to unfold and they have a place in it just as surely as the characters they learn about in the Bible.

We chose this curriculum because it helps children understand the Bible isn’t just a collection of stories, but is one grand, ongoing story of God’s unfolding work in their world and in their lives.

Other Parental Resources

As we believe it is our responsibility to supplement your ministry of discipleship @HOME, we believe it is also our job to supplement you with resources to help you be better equipped to disciple your kiddos @HOME. The image to the left of each resource will take you directly to their website.

  • "Focus on the Family is a global Christian Ministry dedicated to helping families thrive. We provide help and resources for couples to build healthy marriages that reflect God's design, and for parents to raise their children according to morals and values grounded in biblical principles."

  • "Our children can grow up smart, athletic, popular and polite but lack a vibrant relationship with Christ. The few hours they spend in church each week can be helpful, but it cannot nurture a faith in our kids that will withstand the trials that are on the horizon. Church alone cannot teach them, we must start at home."

  • MOPS

"Here at MOPS, we gather and support moms. We believe in the simple but revolutionary idea that remarkable things happen when moms come together, face to face. That's why we rally women to come together in their own neighborhoods and help each other through this thing called motherhood, one gathering at a time."
