Worship is a Dialogue
What we find in the Scriptures are many good and helpful principles concerning how corporate worship ought to be conducted. While there is some genuine liberty in how we order our corporate worship, there are certain nonnegotiable elements that should characterize worship among God’s people over the ages and in different places.

"Work and Play" Giving Campaign
Help us raise $40,000 in additional funds (over and above what is already given to GENERAL) to construct an outdoor PLAY area for our kiddos with a softplay surface and to replace our speaker system, projector, AND projection screen with a WORKing system after the lightning strike a few weeks ago crippled our services.
After a lot of research, discussion, and prayer, the Exec Team has decided to replace our speaker system, amps, and projector with a much more robust, quality system and to add a projection screen to the wall for a better quality image. This new system, while considerably more costly, will save us money in the long run and will significantly enhance our worship experience with its superior sound and projection quality. We had already budgeted $30,000 toward replacing the speakers alone. Still, with the additional cost of replacing the projector and screen AND also wanting to put in the play area with a softplay surface, we need to raise an additional $40,000.
Pastor Darryl and Sharon kicked off the pledge with $500 AND have increased their ongoing giving by $50 per week to the Building Fund for the rest of the year to get us started.
You can either GIVE NOW directly to our Building Fund through your normal giving habits OR you can pledge below to give a future gift, either all at once or over a period of time.
What would God have you do? You may not be able to give $500 all at once or even $50 a week, but everyone can give something! Click here to make a pledge to "Work and Play"
Gift Card Shower to Welcome Sophia Holt
Crossroads is offering a gift card shower for Sophia Holt over the next two Sundays. There will be a gift basket at the check-in station closest to the coffee bar, where folks can drop off congratulatory cards to help set up Sophia in the Holt home. Kylie has suggested cards from Amazon, Walmart, and T.J. Maxx. And of course cash gifts would be great.

Crossroads University Moving to MidWeek
We announced on Sunday, April 14th, that beginning on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2024, we will go to a two-service format at Crossroads Church. Sunday Fellowship Lunches will happen once a month in the church kitchen on Sunday afternoons right after the service. You will be cooking and sharing a meal with 5 or 6 families.
If you are interested in participating in one of these, please sign up! You will be contacted with more details about dates and food when a lunch group is created.
This sign-up is meant to generate a list of people interested in this opportunity. Since we will only be doing this once a month, it may take a couple months before you're contacted. Thank you for your patience.

Office Hours:
- Darryl is a full-time Elder of the church and serves as the primary Teaching Pastor and Counselor. As ministry happens everywhere, he is not always in the office at The Big House but can be reached by text or phone. Darryl and Sharon live here in The Big House and try to be very accessible to the church family. However, they do try to protect Friday each week as a day of restorative rest and time together. Darryl tries to “unplug” electronically on Fridays but can be contacted through Sharon in case of emergency.
Click Here to schedule an appointment with Darryl. - Daniel is a full-time Elder of the church and serves as our primary Student Pastor, Worship Leader, and administrator of most of our Ministry Teams. As ministry happens everywhere, Daniel is not always in the office at The Big House but can be reached by text or phone. Daniel also takes Friday off but is, of course, available in case of emergency.
- Michael Hicks is a lay Elder and serves as the primary Pastor to our Missional Communities/Groups.
- Chris Cunninghams is a lay Elder and serves as the primary Pastor of Discipleship and Crossroads University.
- Neither Michael nor Chris keep office hours here at The Big House but can be reached by text or phone. Michael is self-employed and owns his own growing company, East Side Electric, LLC andChris is a middle school teacher of science and technology in the Lee's Summit school district.
- Dennis Frelick is a part-time Pastoral Intern and serves as Darryl's assistant. He works from home and the office here at The Big House and can also be reached by text or phone.
- Everyone else who serves our church does so on a volunteer basis—neither receiving compensation nor keeping office hours.
All of that to say - we are here to serve you, but “here” is always relative. Text, email, and phone are our friends. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you can’t find us at The Big House.
